Institutional investors in listed companies

Deminor offers a unique Portfolio Monitoring Service covering European and U.S. securities actions. We help investors to recover monies that are available to them in settlements and advice them on how to initiate their own actions, possibly along with other investors, in Europe or in the U.S. with the aim of maximizing recovery.

 

Securities actions are very complex, especially when they involve companies with listings in various countries. For example, European cases like Vivendi, Lernout & Hauspie, Parmalat, Ahold, etc. have all been brought before U.S. courts, even though these companies' headquarters are in Europe. In some cases, law suits have been brought in the U.S. and Europe at the same time.

 

We carefully analyse each potential case for our institutional clients and provide them with a recommendation on whether or not to become active on a specific case. For U.S. actions, we work in close collaboration with U.S. based law firms, and have set up a privileged relationship with Spector, Roseman, Kodroff & Willis P.C.

 

In some cases, investors can remain passive and wait until the case is settled or a court has awarded damages. However, in some other cases (most European actions), investors need to take part in the action in order to benefit from it. Deminor assists its clients in every step in the litigation, whether or not they take an active role in the case.

 

Institutional investors can fully outsource the management of their securities litigation to us. We coordinate the case among various investors, do fact finding, build legal arguments on the basis of our in-house financial analysis, and help lawyers to effectively plead the case. We work with external law firms having extensive experience in securities litigation. By entrusting their securities litigation work to us, investors can focus on their investment management activities while recovering losses wherever possible and fulfilling their fiduciary duty towards their clients.
